Rough Cut Capacity Planning
To support the business S&OP process and to identify mid/long term operational and labour requirements HMS developed and implemented a semi-automated Excel based Rough Cut Capacity Planning model.
The model identified the demand profile and associated production shift hours required at line level and provided a management tool to proactively plan future production while smoothing demand peaks and troughs. The model also projected Warehouse and 3PL space requirements over the horizon.
To review asset utilisation and communicate annual supply opportunities a Capacity Waterfall chart was incorporated to display the breakdown of capacity utilisation.
